There is a huge variety of hosting providers to choose from and this can be frustrating at times. However, after reading this article we are confident that your selection process will be a lot easier. As you know the biggest brand name in the hosting business is GoDaddy. This service is well marketed and offers a wide variety of services. On the other hand, there are also some other very attractive choices such as Hostgator and Bluehost. These services offer as many features as GoDaddy and can be a better fit for your business depending on the case. Without further ado, let's dive into the best features of these products.

Pricing and Features

GoDaddy offers three different plans: the Economy, the Deluxe and the Ultimate. You can choose the one that suits you the most depending on your needs. All three choices offer unlimited bandwidth since the difference stands in the domains. If you choose the Economy plan you can host only one domain whereas the Deluxe can host two different domains and the Ultimate offers unlimited domain hosting. Disk space is limited to 100GB's for the Economy and it is unlimited for the other two options. Also, email addresses for your domain are limited to 100 in the Economy and 500 in the Deluxe. The Ultimate offers unlimited email addresses. Generally, if you are just starting out and you want a cheap basic option, GoDaddy is the best choice for you. Make sure you buy GoDaddy's hosting service during a promotion period to save even more money. Now let's see what HostGator offers. It has three different hosting plans: The baby plan, the hatchling plan as well as the business plan. The basic option is the hatchling plan that allows only one domain to be hosted. Both other options offer unlimited domain hosting. One amazing feature that HostGator offers is that all three plans come with unlimited disk space, bandwidth and emails. Last but not least, HostGator offers a 45-day money back warranty.  BlueHost offers also a large variety of plans to choose from. The majority of them are pretty comparable with what GoDaddy and Hostgator offer. There is a Basic plan that is dirt cheap and a Pro plan that offers two domain upsells. BlueHost is more expensive to renew after the first year compared to GoDaddy. Bluehost's Pro plan offers unlimited storage, databases and domains.

Customer Support

Every company that respects its customers offers an excellent level of customer support. You have to be able to reach out to your provider's support team when something goes wrong or even when you need information about a product. GoDaddy has a great customer support service that offers live chat, a call option as well as a ticketing email system. You can reach the support team anytime and they will fix your issues in the minimum time possible. HostGator has also a very impressive customer support team. All of their 850 employees are available to help you 24hours a day, 7 days a week. HostGator offers email support as well as a reliable ticketing system. Also, you have the ability to call their support team in order to get your issues solved. It doesn't matter what method of communication you choose as they all offer very fast response times.  BlueHost has similar support services to GoDaddy. It offers 24/7 phone, email as well as chat support. Visitors of the BlueHost's site have to wait up to 3 seconds for phone support. GoDaddy's visitors wait 11 minutes on average. It is very difficult to judge a provider's customer support as experiences can vary depending on the day and time. Bluehost is a better option for me as they always solve your issues faster than GoDaddy. My HostGator experience is identical to my GoDaddy one

Choosing a service that performs well is a crucial aspect you have to consider before making your final decision. The main purpose for every hosting server is to be able to load your site in a matter of seconds despite what browser you are using. GoDaddy's servers run on i7 intel processors.

HostGator's services are hosted in a top of the line data center in Texas. This data center uses Dual Xeon servers in order to provide the better overall performance possible. They invest millions of dollars every year in improving their technology and efficiency levels.

Our results indicate that HostGator loads web pages a lot faster than GoDaddy and BlueHost. In some cases, it is even 5 seconds quicker than both of them. Response times are also better when using HostGator as a hosting provider. Page speed score is also higher when using a website hosted by HostGator. If we have performed these tests some years earlier, the results would have been very different. But HostGator's continuous pursuit of innovation is the reason why this provider ranks at the top of every speed test.

BlueHost's servers are also very capable.

All three providers offer exceptional customer support as well as reliable services. However there some specific areas like performance and pricing where some services distinguish themselves from the competition. In regard to pricing, it is evident that GoDaddy is the best choice. GoDaddy's prices are very competitive and that is the main reason why this provider is so famous. On the other hand, if you are looking for an alternative that is a little higher priced but offers amazing performance you have to go for HostGator. So it all comes down to your budget and preferences but we cannot recommend HostGator enough.
